We are experiencing a challenge with the way iMS
Post deals with certain email jobs we throw at it.
Apparently, iMS does not return a status
or ANY information for certain addresses sent to it.
We have a very thorough tracking system and need to
have information about the result of every attempt we make to send a message but
sometimes, nothing is returned by reportPostStatus.
Is there any log setting or other area where we can
find this information? Are there certain types of email addresses (perhaps
malformed) or DNS lookup results that iMS will not even attempt and
therefore will not return a status for? If so, is there any documentation on the
exact criteria iMS uses for this sort of silent rejection. If so, perhaps we can
modify our own system to use the same criteria to reject and log/track
these attempts without even pushing them to iMS.
Thanks,
David Droddy
