Hello,
I've spent some time trying to figure out what that script ought to do, but I
failed. I keep assuming that it should *set* the domain name, because of
`[ -n ${NISDOMAIN} ] && /bin/domainname "${NISDOMAIN}"´, but without further
knowledge of the AWK piece we cannot tell.
Putting the domain name into /etc/resolv.conf would have been easier than
*that* - /bin/domainname already gives the domain name that could easily be
appended to /etc/resolv.conf without an AWK hassle.
However, /bin/domainname does, according to the manual page "show or set the
system's NIS/YP domain name", and every machine can be in only *one* NIS
domain, afaik. So there's no need to care about more than one FQDNs, we only
must take the right domain name. :-)
I think it's more or less up to you to decide what to do with that file, since
it's broken anyways.
Eric
