I was trying out InitNG after following
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/InitNG. I had some errors which I posted
about here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=2542211&postcount=180.
After seeing no responses to multiple requests for help in that thread, I
decided to just uninstall and play with some other things to speed up my
boot time. I am running Ubuntu 7.04. I booted into my non-InitNG session.
When I aptitude removed I received the following error:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo aptitude remove initng-usplash

I know next to nothing about scripting otherwise I would have tried to
decipher the error in the line of that script but it's greek to me. :) I've
tried reinstalling initng but it still wants to complete the uninstallation
of initng-usplash. It's now become a bigger problem as nothing in
/etc/init.d will work. Example:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/samba start
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/samba restart
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

I think I've provided all the information I've got, please let me know if
you need anything else from me. I went to the IRC channel but no one was
available so this is the last place I've got to try for help. :(
