here is my opinion : I think the Wiki is used for posting ripe ideas, and the ML is used for ripening them. Here is the cost table : IRC Chat -- LOW Mailling List -- Medium Wiki Page -- High So if you have a very unripe idea, you use the chat, and then discuss it on the ML, and when it is done, publish it on the wiki, maybe if it is important, send a link to the ML about it.
