Keith,

As I understand it, the Reforming Alliance resulted from the invitation only meeting that EMU called in the week before NSW Synod (which specifically excluded the President and General Secretary).  At it were both EMU members and people who are not members of EMU but were/are concerned about the direction that the UCA is taking re homosexuality.  If you go to the EMU site http://www.emu.asn.au/ and look at the link "The Birth of the Alliance", this will give you as much information as I have about it, but as I understand it, it is different from EMU, although a significant number of EMU people are involved.  And some of the people involved are no longer attending Uniting Churches and may have actually formally left, so I am not sure what its status is vis a vis the UCA.

Subject: EMU / Reforming Alliance

What if anything is the difference between EMU and the Reforming Alliance.  Are they two different organisations or is the latter a division of EMU ?  Are they organisations within the UCA or are they separate ?

Regards Keith
