If you have a clear view of the eastern horizon you will see an interesting phenomenon reaching its peak on 5th November about 5:30 in the morning. The planets Venus and Jupiter, which are normally very bright, will come closer and closer together until the 5th when they will appear to be a mere 33 arc minutes apart, at an altitude of about 14 degrees above the horizon. The “proximity” is merely an optical illusion caused by the angle at which we view both from Earth. So if you’re driving at that time, it won’t be an approaching car in the distance!
