We are continuing to make progress on open-sourcing more of the installation technology, and we've been targeting the end of September for that to occur. As we get closer to that date we'll provide a more definitive schedule. Most of the Solaris installation team's attention has been occupied on the Zulu project, which is adding true upgrade support for systems with Zones installed. We've recently completed the feature development and are in the midst of code review and testing. We've also been spending time on research we needed to conduct to move forward on the directions noted in the strategy paper published back in March. Since much of that research so far has been on technology which is not yet open (and in some cases not yet shipping), we've not been able to say a lot about it, though I expect we'll say more in a few weeks to at least summarize our findings. Finally, we've been working on enhancing the package and patch tools to automatically resolve dependencies; Vassili has posted some early snapshots of the work to the SVR4 Packaging project page and some notes about the design on this list. Anyway, thanks for asking, and of course follow up if there are further questions. It'll be a lot easier for us to be open about both our plans and day-to-day work once more code is out there, and we're not far from that being the case. Dave
