I finished a test install of openSolaris 5/08, and started playing with the
packaging system.

It told me the "entire" package had an update (BTW, I don't see the "UFIX"
header documented in the man page, unless I missed it):

# pkg list -u
NAME (AUTHORITY) VERSION STATE UFIX
entire 0.5.11-0.86 installed u---

However, after installing the update, nothing seemed to have changed. The
package doesn't appear to have any contents:

# pkg contents entire
PATH

And it seems to be some type of meta-package or cluster?

# pkg info entire
          Name: entire
       Summary: entire incorporation
         State: Installed
     Authority: opensolaris.org (preferred)
       Version: 0.5.11
 Build Release: 5.11
        Branch: 0.86
Packaging Date: Sun May 4 12:54:39 2008
          Size: 0 B
          FMRI: pkg:/entire at 0.5.11,5.11-0.86:20080504T125439Z

The packages "slim_cd" and "slim_install" seem to be the same. What are
these packages, and how do you tell what dependencies they might bring in?

If I want to customize the set of packages installed, should I just remove
them?

Thanks...
