So, your machine is panic'ing in the kernel.  You could try booting the
OpenSolaris LiveCD with the -v boot option which will give a more
verbose output of what's happening before the machine panics.

When you get the GRUB menu, press e (for edit) on the first option.
Then press e again to edit the kernel line.  At the end of the line add
a space and -v.  Press ESC to save and then b to boot.
