Hi, I'm having the same problem under similar conditions. However, I notice this thread whilst it appears to have solved the problem for windows Vista, hasn't and probably will not work for me.
I'm running a machine with two drives: 1) Windows XP (Primary Master) 2) OpenSolaris (Secondary Master) and the bootloader for Solaris has been installed on the secondary master. How do I, a) Modify the windows xp boot loader to load Solaris b) Rub grubinst from the solaris live cd to set up the GRUB loader on the primary master? It's a bit annoying that the opensolaris installer doesn't give you the option where to install, hopefully this is something that will be resolved soon. This message posted from opensolaris.org
