You should have one "Solaris" partitions for all Solaris releases you want
to install and one swap "slice" within that to be shared.

One big Solaris partition:


        /       - sufficient for the OS installation
        swap    - sufficient for your use
        /altroot- for an alternate Solaris install
        zpool   - for the rest

and one linux partition (and possibly a linux swap partition)
