FWIW, I was recently trying to customize a wanboot miniroot and in the
process of "pkgrm -R /mnt ..." of some non-SUNW packages (FJSV*, I
think). During this time /var/sadm (possibly all of /var, I forget
for sure) was lost. I haven't had a chance to dig into the cause or
repeatability of it. I just thought I would mention it in case there
have been other instances of /var/sadm getting lost. This was when
working with a wanboot image created by setup_install_server on S10
11/06.

On the other hand, limiting root is also good advice. I can somewhat
easily see this as being a target for someone trying to free up space.
