Bugs in the miniroot. We run into 2 bugs in the Solaris 10 06/06 miniroot so far that affect our ability to install systems. We are actually still waiting for patches on both and are in the meanwhile replacing libraries to get things working correctly. But, yes, we would apply a patch for those. Those libraries must be part of SUNWsibi and a patch wouldn't cause any problem in this case.
I also had to add SUNWbtool to the 06/06 miniroot to create flash archives when booted from the miniroot as well as patches to the flash archive utilities. I've added flash archive patches to the miniroot in Solaris 8 as well. But yes, from past years experience it has been mostly driver updates. Most of the time to get new (sparc) hardware to install. Never thought twice about it, guess I've been lucky so far! - mo On 5 Oct 2006, at 13:37, Sarah Jelinek wrote: > I was wondering if there are any other reasons customers patch the > miniroot besides driver updates. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
