OK - thanx a lot to all responders helping me to get a clue :)

Since I do not need GNOME stuff in a zone, I can live with a possible
soft dependency.

The motivation for SUNWmlibk,SUNWmlibl was not its size but to get /opt
freed, so that it might be used as a zone internal rw [z]fs - some people
still hardcode pathes into their binaries :(.

BTW: Tightened my prototype zone from ~ 950 MB down to ~220 MB
(most of it comes from /var/sadm/pkg patch archives) and now it gets
installed within ~ 3 min (previously ~ 20min). See also

Thanx again,

PS: Why are your replies to jive threads not listed in
    http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa*? This way I guess,
a lot of useful information gets lost, since "legacy" discussion
list archives don't seem to exist :(
