I don't understand the necessity of such a general statement. It will be
better if you could put out the list of whom you think come in the above
category!
Till now, I didn't see anybody "Claiming" that "I am an expert in so and so
technology" in this forum/alias!
So, I am failing to understand the intent of above statement.

I agree that, it is good to know each other.
But, I don't think this is the only way or rather correct way.
Now you have sent a long mail. I will keep that mail for later reading
(since it is long and there are more important/urgent things at hand) and
may forget to read and the mail gets lost.
Even if we assume that, everybody on the thread has read it and know "Who
you are", what about the people joining tomorrow......this is a growing
community.....!?
So, with this way, we have to keep on sending "Who are you?" mails every
week or every month!!
Or we have to make it mandatory for people joining the forum to read all the
previous "Who are you?" mails.
I don't think any of these options will be acceptable to anybody.

So, I think the best way is to keep all the profiles at a place which
everybody can access and if you want, you can include the URL to that
profile in your signature.

Narendra
