Hello, I had built opensolaris build 43 successfully according to instructions. This was on a macnine with SXCR b44 ;(it's ok; according to the readme, the current minimum SXCR build needed to build the OpenSolaris sources is Nevada build 37.)
My machine is x86_64. afterwards I ran: Install -G kernel.43 -k i86pc And I copied from the tar the kernel.43 folder to /platform/i86pc/kernel.43. Than I tried: cd /platform/i86pc/ reboot -- kernel.43/amd64/unix gives: panic: cannot open kernel.43/amd64/unix press any key to reboot and there is no typo , believe me, I had checked twice. moreover,reboot -- kernel.43/amd64/unix -kv did not show any more messages. more /boot/solaris/filelist.ramdisk: shows: etc/rtc_config etc/system etc/name_to_major etc/driver_aliases etc/name_to_sysnum etc/dacf.conf etc/driver_classes etc/path_to_inst etc/mach etc/devices/devid_cache etc/devices/mdi_scsi_vhci_cache etc/devices/mdi_ib_cache etc/cluster/nodeid kernel platform/i86pc/biosint platform/i86pc/kernel boot/solaris/bootenv.rc boot/solaris/devicedb/master boot/acpi/tables Please notice that platform/i86pc/kernel.43 is not there. (is it ok?) I also copied all drivers from /platform/i86pc/kernel/drv/amd64 to to /platform/i86pc/kernel.43/drv/amd64 and tried reboot , but it did not help and I got the same panic error. Any ideas?
