Hi All,

I have an intel machine which has a CD ROM attached to it. I downloaded the 6
ISO images for the Solaris 11, b79 and installed the OS.

There was a burning problem in CD3 and hence I did not get GNome installed by
default. The OS installed fine and I could login using CDE. I logged in and
mounted the ISO imae for CD3 and then ran the installer. All the packages were
installed correctly.

I rebooted and then selected GNome as the window manager and logged in as root.
Now when I log in as root, I get two error windows saying, "GNome Settings
Daemon could not be started" and "Error in starting the MIXER Applet"...

Also I see no icons

explicitly start the settings daemon brings everything fine. But if I close the
terminal window in which the daemon was started everything goes back to the
previous state. Cant this daemon be started at login.
