Hi there, I was trying to do the exact same thing right now and stumbled on your post :) I'm trying to circomvent a sun4v bug/feature in opensolaris (no jumpstart possible without it, it stops after "whoami: no domain name").
Haven't had much luck yet. Will keep you posted if I find anything... I thought grub wasn't involved in this, since the partition id is the same, it's just some slicing inside the Solaris2 partition that's defined. I have this setup: s0 - Solaris 10 u4 s1 - Solaris 11 snv82 s3 - swap s4 - data I'm trying to switch the drives with /etc/vfstab, but I think not only the structure of the vfstabs files must be the same, but also the first binaries that get loaded might not understand them (right before init starts doing its thing). I wonder when EXACTLY is menu.lst put into play, but I think that anyways something else must also be done. This message posted from opensolaris.org
