I assume you had a PS2 or a USB mouse connected, when you installed your
freshly installed Solaris 10 update3, did it drop out of Windows graphic mode
and default to a terminal screen mode? if mouse and the Windows graphics mode
did drop, then open a Bug/RFE http://bugs.opensolaris.org/ and provide a copy
of outputs of uname -a , /var/log/Xorg.0.log , prtconf -pv ,
/usr/bin/X11/scanpci -v , /etc/openwin/server/etcOWconfig and a OWconfig.BAK,
and in the /etc/X11/ dir .video.devs .xorg.conf and org.conf files as well!

Then make a backup and remove the above files and the /etc/X11/.video.devs
.xorg.conf and org.conf ( There might be a Bug id on these dot file of
org.conf on the way it is handled in snv_51 to 54!) located in the /etc/X11
also backup the
Then as a work around rerun kdmconfig try Xorg server ooptions
      X Server Selection

? Xorg Server Configuration Instructions
????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Instructions for configuring the Xorg Server:

  (1) Create an xorg.conf file with one of these commands:
      /usr/X11/bin/Xorg -configure, or
      /usr/X11/bin/xorgconfig, or
      /usr/X11/bin/xorgcfg

  (2) Edit the resultant xorg.conf file with any changes needed

  (3) Move the xorg.conf file to /etc/X11/xorg.conf

For more details about Xorg configuration, refer to the Xorg man pages
in /usr/X11/man. This directory is not in the default man page path, so
to view these pages, use one of these options:

  (1) Add this directory to the MANPATH environment variable setting.

  (2) Use the "-M /usr/X11/man" option of the man command.

Note, Xorg command line options may override xorg.conf settings.
See the Release Notes for more details on passing options to Xorg.
I have seen in some cases, rerunning the kdmconfig and accept the default might
pick up the graphics card, the mouse changes, I have ran into issues in
changing a ps2 mouse to a USB and vs USB back to PS2 always worked!
