[install-discuss] Re: Installing to external USB drive

I was trying to install release 10. I had a media starter kit or something sent 
to me and tried installing that to my Dell Inspiron 8600 after a reformat. When 
I booted the computer and went to the list of devices to boot from, my USB 
drive was listed so it definitely recognized USB devices before loading an OS. 
I don't think that should be the problem. Any ideas?
