I've encountered an odd problem when installing Solaris Express Developer
Edition over an existing partition layout as follows:

30,000MB: Solaris Express b53 (bootable, primary)
130,000MB (ish): NTFS partition (not bootable, primary)

The disk was previously partitioned by:

1. Wiping in Windows using Partition Magic
2. Installing SXCR 53 into it's own 30,000MB partition.
3. Verifying SXCR booted OK (which it did).
4. Create NTFS partition in rest of disk (using XPs built in "Disk Management"
console).

My problem is this: I attempted to install SXDE over the top of this existing
partition layout, simply by booting the DVD and "customizing" the disk layout
to include a single 30,000MB partition and nothing else. Upon installation and
reboot, I get a text-mode grub prompt and am unable to get any further. The
same happens if I don't touch the partition layout at all and simply over-write
the existing UFS partition with SXDE.

So each time I want SXDE installed I have to wipe my disk, which contains an
NTFS-based backup of my primary Windows installation, and start from scratch.
Does anyone have any pointers as to what is going wrong here?

Thanks

Andrew.
