How much memory did you give the virtual machine. The gui installer needs 768mb at a minimum. As for the xserver, your looking at Xorg and I'm not an expert on that. My understanding is that it should "just work" but obviously it didn't for you. > VMware docs say that it only supports S10. If nothing else, you could boot this and check out the xorg.conf and use it in your b60 image. I'm not 100% sure there is an xorg.conf in that image but I suspect there might be.
