Which version of livecd you are trying to use ??? Is it 2009.0906
livecd or the latest osol_134 livecd ???
If you are using 2009.0906 livecd, please try the latest osol_134 livecd
and see whether the problem still occurs.
If gnome does not load, can you login as jack/jack and get the following
information:
1. prtconf -vp
2. /var/log/Xorg.0.log
3. Check to see if there is any core dump
