I've got this installed on the client correctly (I'm pretty sure) and the snmp daemon is running under root but intermapper refuses to see the client by snmp. Do I need to *totally configure* the client with the tools in /usr/bin ?? Or should I be getting some rudimentary info right off the bat with the default community read name? TIA, Mark Maytum Pompanoosuc Mills Corporation --- end of quote --- If snmpd is running as root and is listening on port 161, InterMapper should have no problems seeing the snmp client. Use 'sudo lsof -i' to make sure that snmpd is listening on the correct UDP port. Other things to do: Check the /var/log/snmpd.log. Run snmpd with the -d, -V, and/or -D option(s). -Tex Clayton Dartware, LLC http://www.dartware.com ____________________________________________________________________ Note: To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please send email to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Thanks!
