There's nothing intrinsic in supporting dual platforms that "causes problems." In fact, I argue that it creates opportunities and ultimately improves the product. There are many dual-platform applications that originated on the Mac but thrive today in both worlds: EtherPeek, Photoshop, Acrobat, Quark Express, Microsoft Word and Excel, and more.I just wanted to post my opinion and see what other users thought. I guess I'm a minority. Perhaps the Mac version should be dropped. I'm not being facetious... I simply believe dual platform support creates problems.
The Windows version is the best single event in the history of InterMapper.

I have complete faith in their ability to develop for both platforms, and I dearly want Windows users to have an alternative to the very weak and expensive NMS offerings extant in their realm. I continue to be a Macintosh fanatic -- it's my primary platform -- but I recognize that Mac users have nothing to gain from hoarding good software. -mel At 9:23 AM -0500 1/28/03, Konowal, Ed wrote:I just saw it. InterMapper available for Windows. Recall back in 2000 when you (Bill Fisher, Rich Brown and Dartmouth College) decided to "spin InterMapper out as a separate company"? My stated concern at that time was that you'd loose focus on the Mac and divert resources to develop a Windows version. I expected it. I HATE it, but I expected it. What's next? Sell the program to Microsoft? It's all about profit now. I understand... I'm just so disappointed to actually see the first steps, of this fantastic program, now headed toward mediocrity. A very, very sad day.
