I verified I am running the 4.0.2b2. I thought I had closed the Services control panel... But just to check I went through the steps again and made sure the app was closed.

The error number means that the service was already installed at the time that we tried to install it. Normally, we remove the old service and then install it again, but if the MMC or Services control panel is open, the system won't complete service deletion until they are closed, and the installer will fail when it's time to reinstall the service in the service control manager. I would check to make sure you're actually running the 4.0.2b2 and not an earlier version. I think you should be, but it's worth checking if you haven't already.
