Hi..

Well, if I use 'Port Name' on switches such as Cisco 2950, 3550, 2900M & G etc.. they all tell me "FastEthernetx/y" where X & Y is the module and port.

You might have to use SNMPv2 for this to work, though.. I know Interface Alias' only work with SNMPv2.

Ahh, that has been there for a long time.

Label options:
Port Number:    2 (ifIndex is I'm right..)
Port Name:              Fastethernet0/2 (Module and port)
Interface Alias:        <The name assigned to 'Description'> (at least on
Cisco)

And there is other...
