1)Through InterMapper Web, the Uplink Point can be doneby clicking on the "Back" button. In the InterMapper Console interface, the Uplink Map could be listed as an object on the child map.
Well, this is only the case if you JUST clicked on a map probe and then want to go back.
I general, I would love to vote for web 'back/up' links, so that clicking on a LINK on the errors page would allow you to go 'up' to the map containing the link/device.
The same applies when we talk in-between map navigation. It should be possible to assign a network/device as the 'link' to the parent map, so clicking it would take you to the parent map, just like the current map probe takes you down to the map it monitors.
2) I agree about Map Probes not being in Errors and Outages, but maybe that depends on how one implements maps. It's possible to have one InterMapperServer/Client that monitorsa map of maps, i.e., nothing but map probes. Such a map should produce Errors and Outagesin order to produce any output at all about what's unreachable.
Well, either start by simply filtering out map's that is on the same (127.0.0.1/localhost) server, or simply make a checkbox (and default behavior) to filter each map probe out of the lists.
It should of course be possible to list the map probes in the lists, And if the actual probe fails (ie the map disappears or something...) it should show up indicating the error.
The way it is now, the probe simply duplicates an error already in the list.
In my case, I have maps like this:
The World - Europe - - Denmark - - - MyServer
If MyServer fails, I will get _4_ 'devices' in the error & outage list! It's a bit of a mess, and it hides the actual problem...
Hope it makes sense... ;-)
