I'm a bit confused here so I was wondering if anyone out there could help

I'm attempting to run a Big Brother agent with an external testing script
on a remote box. Intermapper states it can accept combo and status
messages and it appears messages directly from the agent work, however my
messages from the external test seem not to be getting through to
Intermapper.

No, they won't get through--InterMapper uses the IP address of the other end of the connection to determine what device it refers to, so if the message comes from somewhere other than the device in question, it won't be reflected.

Perhaps I need to revisit that decision; is it common, would you say, for Big Brother messages about a device to be sent from some other device?
