1 is already covered..
2: That is why I some while back suggested that IM does this automatically. It's a 'nice-to-have' feature in Traditional/Remote, but it would REALLY ROCK when used in the WEBSERVER.
Suggestion:
- Traditional/Remote: Make a new Pop-Up like the Down/Alarm/Ok/Chart ones containing the Local Maps linking to this Map.
- Web: Make links back to the Local Maps with Map Probes for the current map.
Way Cool if: A map has a 'recent remote probes' list and is able to make links to these maps(letting the user authenticate..). Alternative: Make link to the remote map, if the Referrer is not the local server

Hi,
I'm playing with map status probes for the first time today. I made a map for one of my server racks, then set up a master map with a map status probe that points to this rack map. So far so good.
I decided to edit the map status probe, so I double-clicked it. Instead of opening the probe window, it took me to the rack map. I'm sure there's got to be some way of editing a map status probe, but I can't figure out what it might be. Can anyone give me a hint?
OK, on to the next item. Now that I've navigated to the rack map, I'd like a way to get back to the master map. Aha, I can put a map status probe on the rack map that points back to the master map, and then double-click it. This works fine. It's nice to have map navigation tools built into the map.
However, later on something in the rack went offline for a few minutes.
Now the two map status probes are locked in a deadly embrace - each is
red, because the other is red. Everything's green except for the two
recursive map status probes.
Is there a way to make this work the way I'd like? For instance, if a
map status probe queries a map, IM should filter the reply to ignore any
map status probes that point to the map that's making the query. (I
don't think it's a good idea to ignore ALL map status probes, or you
can't easily nest the maps more than two levels deep.)
Or could a new type of object be added (a map navigation object)? Or, at the least, a back button as in a web browser?
I'm using the non-daemon IM 4.1 on OS X 10.2.8.
Thanks,
Doug
