Folks:
We are pleased to announce the availability of InterMapper 4.1.2. The big change
is that it's now easy to add custom icons on your maps for any platform:
Windows, Mac, or Unix/Linux. Simply drag PNG or JPEG files to the Custom Icons
folder and the images will be available for your maps. To learn more about the
custom icons, check out:
http://www.intermapper.com/immanual/appxd/customicons.html
Here's the full list of new features:
* [FEATURE] Custom icons can be created from PNG or JPEG files, and will be
colored based on the device status. You can create groups of icons by placing
them in a sub-directory of the Custom Icons folder.
* [FEATURE] The Map Status probe will attempt to establish a SSL connection, and
if not available, then use an unencrypted connection.
* [FEATURE] A double-clickable StartConsole utility will always launch the
InterMapper Console program on Windows computers to avoid problems with
mis-associated JAR files. In addition, it increases the memory allocation above
the default to make Console run well, even with many large maps.
* [FEATURE] All SNMP Community strings will be concealed when they are being
entered or displayed.
* [BUG FIXES] Many bug fixes in display of Host Resources Probe, XML escaping,
Solaris ping timings, RedHat and Solaris installers, window positioning on
multiple monitors, and others.
We're giving InterMapper customers an early opportunity to get the software in
advance of the press release later this week. To retrieve this version, go to
