Thanks for the speedy bug report!! It looks like the Debian crash occurred when InterMapper received an SNMP reply with an invalid BER length encoding. This caused InterMapper 4.2.4 to fail an ASSERT statement. I made the modifications to the BER parsing code in 4.2.4 to fix an issue related to certain LDAP servers; previous versions would have handled the malformed SNMP packets correctly. (Both LDAP and SNMP use the same BER related code.)
I have fixed this bug and we will post a 4.2.5b1 version later today. I apologize for the inconvenience.
