I am using Intermapper Windows 4.2.3, monitoring a few hundred devices on about thirty submaps. From the beginning I have put a six minute delay on all up or down notifications. This has worked well to keep us from being paged every time a device is rebooted.
Lately the devices on a few submaps started to page us on up notifications after brief outages. I rechecked the settings. I selected all the devices on the maps and reset the notification delay just in case.
This morning, the devices on these maps missed one polling cycle. Intermapper sent out notifications. I rechecked the configurations and the event logs. The notifications were set to a six minute delay. The logs show a one minute outage and show up notifications being sent. I had two other devices that had brief outages this morning. The logs show the outages for these two devices, they were configured for six minute delay on notifications, and no notifications were sent.
Why are identically configured probes behaving differently on notifications? What have I missed?
