I think I will retract my question. It had been about a year or more
since I looked at InterMapper in depth, and I see now that there have
been lots of changes. The charts seem to be about the same, but there
are so many more features in the program that I need to rethink how
we are using the available capabilities.
Thank you.

I know that you can create charts on InterMapper, but they aren't

Well you can create graphs of data you're probing (called "charts" in
Intermapper); what specifically is different between the Intermapper
charts / MRTG, and what types of data are you trying to graph? They're
different in that (except for the web interface) the Intermapper stuff
isn't web-based, but basically the same idea.
For instance, to create the type of chart I'm talking about (for a
device's interface), go to the "Status" window for the interface
(click
the wire attached to the device, not the device itself), and click on
the thing you want to graph (for example, XXXXXXXX bps). That should
create a new chart. Then, to add something else, drag it to the new
window instead of just clicking it. If you're trying to graph
something
else (load, free memory, or whatever), I imagine this is possible too,
but you'll need to add probes for those things and follow a similar
process.
