Hi Kevin

The NT Services probe can notify you when a service goes up, as well as when
a service goes down. If someone enables the wireless service on your Windows
2003 server, you can receive a notification that the service is up when you
are using this probe.

Subject: [IM-Talk] Host Resources Probe

Just starting to use this probe and I can see its usefulness for monitoring
services that go down. Right now I'm monitoring the anti-virus service and
if it gets hung (or purposely turned off) we get an indication.

Another option I would like to see would be Intermapper reporting when
something gets turned on.

For instance, we disable the wireless service on Windows 2003 server. I
would like to monitor that and see if anybody turns it on. Of course that
could be used for any service you don't want turned on.

Kevin
