Hi,
At last I got a new Mac (Mac Pro 2 x 2.66GHz dual-core), so at least five time
the processor power. Time to move to the latest version of IM, 4.5.7.
This version appears much more finished than when I was previously trying to move on from Traditional, and I was able to import my main map, although I had to change the probe for almost all routers, they came up as no-polling. Also the CPU load is
hardly noticeable.
However there are still some issues:
1) In List view the various date columns do not pay attention to the date and
time control panel settings.
2) There is still a cosmetic issue with the ants. On one of our routers, the
ants do not stop at the edge of the router, but march right over it, so the
router legend is obscured.
3) Is there still a limitation on vertical axes for charts? I seem unable to
set the vertical axis to more than 2.xx Gbps. Also if I rescale the vertical
axis the data values are all zero.
A couple more general issues:
1) What are the plans for IPv6 support? All our devices have v6 addresses, and
some interfaces will only have v6 addresses. In particular our commodity IP
providers can't do v6 natively so we have to use tunnels to them.
2) Is there a way to reveal a hidden interface without doing a reveal-all,
unselecting a particular one, and then hiding the remainder? I would like to be
able to get at one based on, say, its ifIndex.
