Has anyone else discovered the interface being slow in 4.6b3? This is an
upgrade from 4.5.8, so not sure if its slow just in the 4.6 branch, or
something else I changed on my system or what.
On a small map with 11 devices, 3 of those being switches, showing their 24
ports, if I take one switch, re-arrange with bus type, it takes about 1
second to move each port to its new location, so to move all the ports, it
takes about 24 seconds. Same as if I move them back to my normal star config.
The cpu usage on both the client and server are low during the
re-arrage. Server is a dedicated machine running Debian 2.6.8 Kernel, 512
megs ram, P4 2.8Ghz, monitoring 1408 devices (have been monitoring this
many for quite some time now, on this same hardware). Client is Debian
2.6.18, 3 gigs ram, AMD 64 x2 3800, Java 1.6.0-b105, Java HotSpot 64-Bit
Server VM (uild 1.6.0-b105, mixed mode).
On a windows box, its a bit faster, but still doesnt quite instantaneously
make the change like I remember it doing...
Also, in the true form of trying not to change too much at once, I changed
the RAID card in the server (getting 48 MB/sec disk reads), and at the same
time, upgraded to IM 4.6b3 from 4.5.8, also added DataCenter.
And on my machine (IMRemote) I recompiled the kernel, changed window
managers, and changed the video card drivers (nvidia mx4000 cards).
So the issue could very well be something on my end...
