James, You can try increasing the timeout for the probe using the Set Info > Set Timeout command. You might also want to consider putting a delay on the notifier, to prevent receiving an alert every time the probe times out. I can also submit an enhancement request for you that this error generates a 'critical', as opposed to 'down', status.
