I'm also having problems with the RPC failing and saying I need to enter a
valid user/pass, but then I can choose 'reprobe selection' and it will work.
My current workaround is to probe every 30 seconds vs the map default of 2
minutes so it will attempt to verify the services 12 times instead of 3 times
before an alert is sent at the 6 minute mark. This workaround is fine for
paging (so far) but it fills my outage log obsfucating the info I really want
to get out of those logs. This is why I requested some errors for this probe
be moved to a critical category instead of a 'down.'

Suggestions?

Good timing,

We're starting to use this probe to watch a few applications.

We're spread out in a forest with several domains, most of the domains we
manage are at the end of a satellite link.

The stuff close to us works like a charm but the satellite stuff times out
as mentioned.

The probe either has to do a retry now and then or we need to be able to
adjust the timeout.

Subject: [IM-Talk] NT Services probe default timeout

Is there a way to adjust to default timeout on the NT services probe, or
change the 'Timed out attempting to connect to server to get service
information' status to a critical instead of a down? I love this probe, but
I am reaching the 'crying wolf' threshold of false positives caused by it.
