Hyperterm shows the name/password prompts. I seem to be
authenticated and get to a prompt but then I can't enter commands or
receive output.
The problem is that the telnet clients you've selected don't do local
echo by default, and InterMapper doesn't echo the characters. You
need to turn on local echo. Instructions are here (scroll down):
