We have 3 IM servers on our network management net. All on the same net, but two of these (production) are on different switches. My office PC where I use my IM remote, is on the same switch with a IM server we are using for testing.
This machine has a cname "intmap01c" and it's regular DNS name is net-sun. I added the server "intmap01c" to the IM remote list of servers, and that works, but "net-sun" keeps appearing on the list, and I don't want it there. It would be nice if we could turn off the remotes auto-discover of servers on it's lan.
