Sometimes I join devices together using the "attach to" if there isn't an interface to use. Normally because part of the map shows part of the larger network we have no view into.
It would be useful if you could control the type of line that is drawn between the objects. Right now it is a simple line. Having different weights (thin thick thicker, etc), color control and also dots, dashed, etc. A connection line I would especially like is a lightning bolt that often signifies some type of radio link. I can imagine an Intermapper that eventually provides a Visio type of drawing board that has objects that are pretty pictures (not probed) and objects that are active (probed). Just a thought. Quite often in my job it's all about the presentation.
