Well I guess I have to use the High Traffic Probe
Remember the discussion on why to have multiple probes attached to 1 icon (device) on a map. This is it LOL, so where I had 1 switch device on the map (or router), I now need to add about 12 to 50 more probes, one for each interface I wish to notify about High Traffic. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Steven Good Sent: Wednesday, September 17, 2008 10:56 AM To: InterMapper Discussion Subject: [IM-Talk] How to send a notification when interface utilization hits a threshold? I have been asked to set up some of our devices / maps, so that when interfaces hit a threshold it would trigger a notification. I would be happy using either a percentage trigger such as 70% peak utilization or a hard threshold such as trigger when traffic hits or exeeds 700 Mbps. The only way I found to do this so far, unless I am missing something (not including creating a custom probe), is to use the High Traffic Probe, but then I need to add one of these probes for each interface we want to alert on. Is there any easier way? If not, I guess I will have to use the High Traffic Probe... but would prefer to find a % way to trigger.
