Andrey,

I'm working on documentation of variables available for access from probes.

The ${devicename} variable works in the <script-output> section of a TCP Probe.

There is a ${_remoteaddress} variable available in the <script> section, which is where you would likely be passing the host name to the device. That one would be worth a try - it's possible it will resolve it.

I'm hoping to have a list of available variables in a tech tip in the next day or so.

Best regards,

Bob Merrill

${devicename} does not seem to work. I just get NOT FOUND when using that.

You can use the variable ${devicename}.

Subject: [IM-Talk] Variables

I¹m parsing the Dev guide in search of the available variables with no luck.
Can someone point me to the page where available variables are listed,
please?

In particular, right now I¹m looking if there is a way to pass in an actual
hostname instead of the IP address to my CLI probes. Meaning, right now, I
pass in ${ADDRESS} which passes in the IP address even if I put in hostname
when adding a node. Is there a way to pass the value I put in the ³add
device² dialog?

Thank you,
Andrey
