Hi Mark,
There's no way to do this at the moment. The only work-around I can
think of would be to use another service, like RADIUS. You might be
able to configure something like OpenRADIUS to authenticate against your
LDAP directory, and act as an authenticate bridge. This would probably
take quite a bit of effort to set up, and I haven't done this myself, so
I can't guarantee that it's feasible.
We have gotten one other request for this feature, so I've created a new
enhancement request for you, and linked the two.
