Hello all-
I upgraded our 5.1b1 install to 5.1b5, and all groups are gone from
the map. They have been replaced by single, non-polling probes.
In the device list, all the single elements of the groups are
there, but I cannot form them into groups.
Is there something I'm missing?
Yes. We announced several times that the probe used to create what
we called "Collections" in the alpha test versions was going away,
and that you would have to make new Probe Groups with the probe for
"Probe Groups". We kept both around for several versions to give
everyone a chance to easily make the change, but in 5.1b4, the old
probe went away, which means that anything created with the old
probe is now assigned to the non-polling probe.
There are several options for how to proceed. The best is to re-
export any affected maps from your production server, reimport them
to your test server, and recreate the probe groups. If that won't
work for you, please contact me off-list and I'll give you
instructions on how you might be able to recover them. (Your old
maps were backed up automatically when you upgraded to 5.1b5 for
just this reason, so it should be possible.)
