Just a note for the compatibility list:
I have tested the Huawei E230 USB 3G modem, often sold (at least here
in Europe) as a 3G dongle.
Platform tested: OS X 10.5.7 Server
IM Settings: Just select the modem (I used the -modem port, not the -
Pcui port)
Works up to 230400 Baud speed, 8-1-N.
Only issue found:
Non ASCII chars does seem to block the sending. So a device label like
"myÆØÅdevice" will fail. Maybe that is a IM charset issue, as UTF-8
works fine via interfaces such as 'gammu'.
Note to Janice: Could you start a KB article with tested modems please?
