Debian defaults to only listening on loopback by default. It's likely Ubuntu 
has inherited this. To fix this edit /etc/default/snmd. It will probably have 
127.0.0.1 at the end of one of the lines. Delete that and then restart the 
daemon.

Well, that means your snmpd is not running, is having the wrong community, or 
is blocked by a firewall.  [Wink] 

Is the process running?
Do you have the community set in the .conf file?
No firewalls between IM Server and the host?
