That is odd. What happens if you right-click on the installer and select 'Run 
as administrator' from the context menu?

I assume you rebooted the server? If so, what happens if you rename the 
C:\Program Files\InterMapper\InterMapper Settings folder to InterMapper 
Settings.old? Does the service start? I would like to see the server debug log, 
which you can send using the Help > Report a Bug window.
