We have received a number of reports of instability in yesterday's
InterMapper 5.3 release. If you look in InterMapper's debug log, you may
see that the InterMapper server is running across an ASSERT in
RStringMap::ItemCount(), and restarting. This problem is only triggered
when polling certain Cisco switches.
We have isolated this problem, and InterMapper 5.3.1b1 is now available
with a fix:
http://intermapper.com/download-intermapper?release=beta
(If you've reported this problem to [email protected], you should
have been notified already.)
We plan to release InterMapper 5.3.1 later today.
InterMapper can automatically email crash reports when an event like
this occurs. These reports contain useful diagnostic information that
helps us fix the software sooner. To set this up:
- Open the Server Settings window and navigate to the E-Mail settings.
- Click the checkbox next to "automatically e-mail InterMapper bug reports".
- Enter "[email protected]" in the "Send bug reports to" field.
- We encourage you to include a good email address in the "From
address:" field, so that we can get back to you if there are questions.
